A GLOBAL ODYSSEY"
Is success measured by the position one has reached in life,
or by the obstacles which he has conquered?
PREFACE
The reader is about to embark on an epic, fairly intriguing, highly diverse life
story-telling, which will be accompanied by excitement, intensity, sorrow, pity,
humor, wit, learning, suspense and whatever else humans can encounter in the
path of a long, complex life. Further, the reader will transcend to uncharted
worlds and circumstances and will become privy to intimacy, personal traits, the
fundamentals of professing ignorance: the attainment of knowledge. The latter,
at some mid point of life, brought about substantial power which led to some
degree of arrogance, ultimately culminating into humility.
The leaps and bounds taken during this life span will keep the reader to the
edge of hir (henceforth used to indicate both genders; his/her) seat. As a
raconteur, it is my precise intent in the process to provoke and even fascinate
the reader, instead of presenting a mere chronological narrative. The reader will
be provided with anecdotal events of the author's life and citizenship. Ultimately,
it will become a part of a global odyssey in a labyrinth of life!
INTRODUCTION
Were we to leave Odysseus' Ithaca and travel southeast in the Ionian Sea
waters for less than one hundred miles, we would enter the gulf of Patras.
The endless lacework of the coastline offers a series of magical splendor. The
tantalizing, limpid, beautiful, blue waters which blend with the bubbly waters of
the north-western coast of the Peloponnese, conceivably, may have been
traveled by Odysseus during his mythological journeys. Patras is the Capital of
the Peloponnese and it is here that our own Global Odyssey begins towards a
LABYRINTH OF LIFE .
It is a long wandering of life. After all, life is a journey, not a destination.
It entails journeys and fluctuation as in fortunes of unique magnitude and
complexities. The journey involves cyclical exposure in levels of society:
economic, educational, political ideology, psychological, theological, intellectual,
and simply humanistic! Assuredly, this is a complex and tortuous passage
through life: America's springboard to dignity.
This book will debunk the human tenacity and prowess for survival culminating
in a loftier quality of life.
